Prose: Up to ten (10) prose pieces may be submitted per issue of the journal. It is not guaranteed that all of your pieces will be accepted. To maintain a diverse selection, the maximum number of pieces that may be accepted per person is three (3). We give priority to prose pieces between 1 & 3 pages long. However, we do accept work of up to six pages in length if they are of exceptional quality.
If you are submitting more than one type of work (for example, photography and poetry), the total number of submissions can only be ten (10) or less.
- Please send us your work electronically as attached documents. Please note that we prefer Google Docs.
- Please title all of your works. If you do not provide titles and your work is accepted, a title will be chosen by our Editorial Board.
- Our submissions are read blindly so do not put any identifying information on the document(s) you send.
- Please use the body of your email as a cover letter for your submission. The cover letter should include your full name, or a pen name that you wish to use, and the title(s) of your piece(s). This letter cannot be viewed by anyone except for our Editor-in-Chief, so your identity will not be revealed to those evaluating your work.
- We do not accept previously published work. If your piece has been published anywhere other than a personal blog, website, or social media account, please do not submit it.
- We encourage simultaneous submissions, but please inform us if your work has been accepted for publication elsewhere.
- We do not consider erotica or pieces with graphic violence.
- If your work is accepted, you will be sent a copy of the journal that it is published in. You will retain your copyright.
- If your work ends up being published by another journal or publication, please give us credit for publishing your work originally.
- We will try to get back to you as soon as possible about the status of your submission. However, if you have not received some sort of notification on your submission before February (for our Fall Edition) and June (for our Spring Edition), please feel free to email us.
